Summit Kick-off
DD Entrepreneurship Education Ecosystem Overview Opening Panel on Entrepreneurial University Ecosystems in Emergent Economies DeSCRIPTION
Part 1: Summit Kick-off UDD president and vice president will provide welcome remarks, after which the Babson Academy dean will officially kick-off the summit. Part 2: Entrepreneurial University Ecosystems in Emergent Economies Context considering the challenges of emergent economies, like a low level of institutional capacity or institutional voids. These contextual conditions (i.e., the market and institutions) for launching innovative start-ups are less creative and supportive in emerging economies than in advanced ones. However, institutional voids are a source for opportunities generation and therefore also an adequate space for entrepreneurs. The latter is true in part because ventures tend to adapt to unoccupied competitive niches, which is one of the characteristics of emerging markets. Following this last argument, the question of whether universities can use their entrepreneurial ecosystems to fill the institutional void present in their economic contexts is relevant and should be granted more attention. This panel will discuss how Entrepreneurial University Ecosystems evolve in the context of emerging economies. SPEAKERS

Chilean Entrepreneurship Ecosystem in Action
DeSCRIPTION
2:30-3:00 PM Part 1: Entrepreneurship Education: When to Start? Like many of our Collaborative colleagues, we believe firmly that Entrepreneurship is the best engine for positive change in society and that everyone can be a Changemaker. We often wonder when the right time is to start motivating and teaching someone how to become an entrepreneur (or at least get them to consider the possibility of this in their future). In this panel we will hear from high school and university students about their experiences, and from an innovator in entrepreneurship education working in this context. 3:00-4:00 PM Part 2: Chilean Entrepreneurship Ecosystem in Action The Chilean Entrepreneurship Ecosystem has been recognized at an international level. It is not by chance that in Chile, according to the GEM 2022 Report, 30% of the population declares to be an entrepreneur in early stages and 50% of the adult population has the intention to create a new business in the next 3 months. As in a proper venture, the Chilean ecosystem faces new challenges that go hand in hand with the need of growth and maturity according to its current stage. Persistent questions include: How should we strengthen and increase the impact of our ecosystem? How to make it more inclusive? What should be the role of the more mature entrepreneurs? How should an entrepreneurship ecosystem be governed? The challenge is to ensure that startups experience growth that is organic, innovative and sustainable. This panel is an invitation to learn about the Chilean experience and present the challenges the local ecosystem is facing in a more mature stage. We will be talking about this with important active representatives of the Chilean entrepreneurship ecosystem. SPEAKERS
